Revolver Magazine: Hatebreed Frontman Jamey Jasta interviews Lamb of God Frontman Randy Blythe on ‘The Jasta Show’

Hatebreed frontman and former MTV ‘Headbanger’s Ball’ host Jamey Jasta has a new weekly podcast, ‘The Jasta Show,’ where he interviews musicians, athletes and others. Recently, he sat down with Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe. Listen to the chat below where they discuss sobriety, the much-publicized Czech Republic murder trial, and his forthcoming memoir.

Below are a few highlight quotes from Blythe.

On sobriety:
“I was writing about drinking in my book, I address it quite a bit. It stopped working the last night I got drunk. It worked when I got to a place where everything that bothered me was shutdown. I drink because I didn’t like many things about myself and many things about the world. I didn’t want to cope with that.”

On the trial in the Czech Republic:
“No, there was no fucking lesson–just tragedy. A dead fucking kid. Though I caught a bullet. It was bound to happen to someone. The barricade at that show was non-existent. The security is non-existent. If I were to do it again, I would have stopped the show.”

On his memoir:
“Basically it starts the second I am arrested and it will finish at the end of the trial. It will tell day by day exactly what prison was like. Though the events at that story is just the framework that carries the book along and lets me talk about whatever I want to talk about because I go back and forth in time a lot. I have been writing my book for a while, but the majority of my book has been written since January. It will be released early part of next year along with the new Lamb of God record… I started writing lyrics for the next record in prison.”

Huffington Post: Kingsley and The New Trend of YouTube Stars Launching Podcasts

Kingsley Exposes His Podcast and Future on YouTube | What's Trending Live

Kingsley stopped by our studio at YouTube Space LA to give his opinion on the trends and talk about his podcast, his YouTube channel, and more.

He also hinted at a retirement from vlogging in December and what the future holds for his empire, including his podcast and his writing.

Kingsley has jumped into the podcast space alongside a few other YouTube stars (Shane Dawson, Rhett and Link, Toby Turner) who are finding success in bringing their fans off the platform to find new forms of monetization. In terms of his podcast vs. vlogging he says, "There's only so much you can say when it's just you," and his show 'Overexposed' allows him to connect in a longer form arena and even become a host/interviewer himself bringing his own friends and stars- including Tyler Oakley- on the show.

He's also obsessed with ratchet stories. "People are so stupid and they deserve to be discussed," he laughs.

While fans continue to love his vlogging format that made him popular, he says he will be done making videos eventually, which was never his goal. He went to school for journalism but now feels he'd want to write comedy. He doesn't want to "vlog" in the traditional sense anymore.

"At the end of December, I will no longer be sitting there talking," he says. He does, however, want to use his platform for more comedy writing and to possibly launch a scripted series on his channel.
